Public Liability Insurance.
These guidelines have come about due to the increasing requests from venues for N.A. groups to have Public Liability Insurance. They were formed out of the research into the need for Narcotics Anonymous, as a whole, to have Public Liability Insurance and the protection of the individual member.
If the group has been asked by a venue to get Public Liability Insurance they can:
- Find an alternative venue that does not require the group to get Public Liability Insurance.
- Ask the venue if the group can be named on their Public Liability Insurance for a small surcharge.
- If the group is still required to get Public Liability Insurance they can contact UKSO and they have details of an insurance company who understand the requirements and are fellowship aware, but we have no affiliation in accordance to Tradition Six.
- If the group does take out Public Liability Insurance of any form it needs to be in the name of the group and not an individual member as this could lead to their personal liability.
- Disclaimer: Narcotics Anonymous, as a whole, cannot and will not be party to any group’s Public Liability Insurance, therefore the responsibility belongs to the group.
